Becky Yates
Level 1 and 2 Swimming Teacher
As a Level 2 teacher Becky brings a wealth of experience and a splash of fun to our swimming lessons, boasting an impressive 28 years as a swimming teacher and is fully versed in up-to-date teaching techniques. There is hardly a day goes by when Becky isn’t poolside somewhere - she works across multiple centres, clubs and even teaches school swimming, so we count ourselves fortunate that she chooses to spend her time with us at Rykneld! If you ever see Becky in action, you will see how her teaching style fits perfectly with the friendly, supportive vibe we champion here. Whether you’re a nervous beginner or a budding squad swimmer, Becky’s magical touch helps everyone feel at home in the water. It’s not just her expertise that makes Becky a joy to be around it’s her infectious energy and genuine passion for helping swimmers grow in confidence and skill. With Becky on our team, every pool session promises to be memorable, motivating, and fun!

Megan Kerry
Level 1 and 2 Swimming Teacher
Congratulations to our Learn to Swim Teacher Meg on completion of her Level 2 Swim Teaching course, demonstrating the Club’s dedication to CPD of our poolside teams. You will soon see Meg stepping up to taking our higher level LTS lessons, with starts and dives for swimmers, helping create a smoother transition into squads. Already popular with swimmers, Meg has a knack for making lesson lively and engaging. She always greets swimmers with a big smile and plenty of encouragement and enthusiastic cheers for every achievement. We feel extremely lucky to have Meg in the Rykneld family as the Club runs through her veins as she used to swim for Rykneld back when…well let’s just say there are club trophies with her name on! Meg’s son is well established in our Learn to Swim programme and one day we hope will be a squad swimmer and follow in Mum’s footsteps. Well done Meg!

Lou Allsop
Level 1 and 2 Swimming Teacher
Lou is a familiar and welcoming presence around the centre, bringing a wave of positivity wherever she goes. Her infectious energy and bubbly personality make her instantly recognisable. She has a knack for lifting spirits and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere that puts swimmers and parents alike at ease. As a Level 2 Teacher with an impressive 25 years’ experience in teaching swimming and a qualified Lifeguard, Lou is exceptionally well equipped to handle any situation. Her depth of knowledge and expertise shine through in every lesson, with a nurturing and kind approach. Lou is always attentive to the needs of her swimmers, offering encouragement and reassurance so that everyone feels comfortable and motivated to learn. Lou’s wealth of experience extends across schools and leisure centres, where she has worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities

Frankie Greenhalgh
Frankie joined the club at just 8 years old and has become a dedicated and familiar face at Rykneld. Her journey from young swimmer to national-level Artistic Swimming competitor highlights her passion and commitment. Frankie’s enthusiasm and supportive nature make her a role model for younger swimmers, and she is currently preparing to represent Rykneld again at the Artistic Swimming National Combo Cup event this July. Her friendly manner and approachability make her a favourite among the swimmers, who love her presence poolside as an aquatic helper. She is soon to begin her Level 2 teaching course, taking the next step towards becoming a swimming teacher. Frankie’s unique blend of experience, warmth, and dedication promises to make her an outstanding teacher, and we have no doubt she will inspire countless swimmers to reach for their goals, just as she has done throughout her time at Rykneld.
