Learn to Swim
Rykneld's Learn to Swim follows the Swim England framework and provides two 30-minute sessions per week for each of the swimmers in the Learn to Swim programme.
Our team of swimming teachers and coaches are fully qualified and take great pride in teaching the next generation of swimmers, so that they can be safe in the water and learn a lifelong skill. Water activities are proven to have a positive impact on mental and physical health, regardless of age and ability so at Rykneld Learn to Swim, we work hard to cultivate this enjoyment in all of our members.
All our sessions are fun and inclusive whilst maintaining the highest standards of stroke teaching and development (as you would expect from a Swim England affiliated swimming club).
The team of swimming teachers include:
Evie
Evie who started with us as a learn to swim teacher and her passion shone through and is now also one of our development squad coaches. Evie also coaches as part of our Artistic swimming team.
Kai
Kai is our Learn to Swim teacher. When he is not teaching our young swimmers he is also a competitive swimmer and has taken part in the World Para Swimming Championships. Kai believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and passes his knowledge of disability swimming onto the younger generation.
Amy
The team is led by our Head Coach Amy who has got over 17 years of teaching and coaching experience.
As part of our Learn to Swim Programme all of our swimmers will have the opportunity to gain certificates through the National Plan Stages, as well as earning distance badges. These will be completed during lessons and also on our club distance nights that we host.
